Salsability offers salsa classes at four different levels:
Beginners
Get to know the fundamentals of salsa.
Advanced Beginners
Strengthen your foundation and further develop your dancing skills.
Intermediate
Improve your technique, musicality, and learn more challenging combinations.
Advanced
For experienced dancers who want to refine their skills and continue challenging themselves.
Once you have a good command of the course material and upon your instructor’s recommendation, you can progress to the next level.
We look forward to welcoming you!
You sign up for a course, not for a specific weekday. This means you’re free to attend another class of the same level if another day suits you better or if you’re unable to attend your regular class. You can also make up a missed lesson during the same course.
If you missed the first (trial) lesson, you are still welcome to join the course. You can easily catch up by attending an extra class during the second week.
During our classes, we regularly rotate partners to help everyone learn and improve. Partner rotation is encouraged but never mandatory—if you prefer to stay with your own partner, simply let us know.
– Open Training:
The open training is a class which is based on individual training drills (no leading & following) to develop yourself into a ‘complete’ dancer. Before you dance with partner you have to be dancing yourself!
During the class you will learn the Rhythmical body structure of Salsa, footwork, coordination and style, awareness and balance. You will learn the Salsa basics by the Rhythm method. How to develop your center awareness, how to use your energy against the dance floor, how to let your movement go through your center to create the ability of controlling your hips and legs.
The Open Training is also based on the original names of the footwork patterns of Eddie Torres (Patterns Method). The Eddie Torres technique is made up of the most fundamental partnerwork steps and footwork steps (shines). Shines are your best and fastest way to fully understand the Salsa rhythm and timing. The beginning of wisdom is calling things/shines by their right names. The Open Training will give you all the basics you need to center your body so you can move, then create a rhythm in your body so you can dance and connect with your partner.
– Show Team: Make the transition from a social dancer to a stage performer. Salsability dancers show Team
We want to make sure you learn on the right level, so you don’t have bad experiences in your future dancing. Please join the Beginner’s trial lesson if this applies to you:
Don’t worry about paying too much. We just want you to have the best experience. Once we’ve seen that you belong in a higher class we will deduct what you’ve already paid from the class fee of the higher level!
